Maggie began working as a teacher of lip reading to adults, before becoming a lecturer at the City Lit Centre for adult learning. Since then she has built up over twenty years of experience in the senior management of charities, including the British Red Cross and the Royal National Institute for the Deaf. She has also been chief executive of a children's charity and an organisation for disabled people, setting up the first disabled living centre in East Sussex.
During this time she has gained a wealth of information, skills and knowledge across a wide spectrum of management and leadership. She has been privileged to work with people of all ages who have a range of conditions, such as learning and physical disabilities, deafness and hearing impairment, dementia and mental health issues.
Maggie was appointed chief executive of NORCAS on 1 August 2008.
