Our services are free of charge
If you need our help, we think it's important that you can benefit from our alcohol, drugs and gambling services free of charge.
Our services are confidential
You can talk to us in complete confidence and we take our responsibilities for confidentiality very seriously. We’ll give you our Working Together agreement as soon as possible and clearly explain what we do with the information you give us.
By law, we have to keep up-to-date and accurate records to help us give you a safe and effective service. We keep one file for each person we help, which is securely locked away when not in use. If necessary, we may need to contact your doctor, Social Services or other professionals to help us decide, together with you, on the best possible treatment.
We'll always ask for your permission to keep records, and to show other people or share information with other agencies. Very occasionally, for legal reasons, we have to share information about someone without gaining consent, e.g. if we think there might be a danger to the public.
Our services are accredited
This means that all of our staff work to national drug and alcohol standards and we are approved by the Federation of Drug & Alcohol Professionals. We are also a partner with GamCare – a charity to help people with gambling problems – and provide a safe, confidential environment in which to offer counselling.
NORCAS has held the Investor in People accreditation since 1999 and was awarded Investors in People Silver in 2010. We are also registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) and are accredited by Supporting People. All of these are added reassurances of the quality of service and care you will get from NORCAS.
