Vision, mission & values

Change starts with inspiration, so here’s a bit of ours. We’d like everyone we work with to get under the skin of NORCAS and understand our aspirations and beliefs, so we’ve set these out in our vision, mission and values.

Our vision is what NORCAS is all about:

  • We want everyone to be able to achieve their potential free from the problems caused by addictive behaviours.

Our mission sets out the way we aim to achieve our vision:

  • By reducing the problems addictive behaviours can have on individuals and on society.
  • By enabling individuals and affected others to gain greater control in their own lives.
  • By raising awareness about the factors that can lead to addictive behaviours.
  • By working together with individuals, staff and partner organisations to achieve our aims.

Our values show the way we work with everyone:

  • Our belief in human potential embraces a culture of inclusion, respect for diversity and individuality so that positive change occurs.
  • Our respect for each other enhances the therapeutic alliance between client and worker especially, but is in all relationships that we have with others.
  • Trust is central to what we do; the integrity and honesty of the worker is the driving force behind trust developing.
  • We empower our staff and clients alike, enabling not disabling others through our actions.
  • We’re professional in our dealings with staff, volunteers, clients and other organisations with whom we work; this incorporates all our values and ensures our focus is on what the organisation is achieving.
  • Innovation is needed at all levels of our organisation to keep us effective and provide the best possible service to our clients.
