NORCAS is a leading independent charity supporting those who are affected by alcohol, drugs and gambling in Norfolk and Suffolk. In the last year alone, NORCAS has helped over 10,000 people.
In late 2010, NORCAS identified nearly 15,000 children below the age of 16 living in Norfolk who are affected by their parents and/or significant others substance misuse and gambling issues.
This post will seek to provide group support and some one-to-one support for young people (affected others), and build relationships with other providers who currently work with young people in the county.
With much interest from local media and stakeholders in Norfolk, the success of this post will be closely monitored. This represents an opportunity for the right candidate to make a real difference and help shape a dynamic service.
The successful candidate will require experience of providing support to children and young people. A local or nationally recognised qualification in youth, community, social work, or similar, is desirable. Candidates must have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment and be able and willing to contribute to the effectiveness and development of the service.
