Our mission at NORCAS is to reduce the problems addictive behaviours can have on individuals, families and society. For over 30 years, we've worked closely with our partner agencies and funders to bring about positive changes to people's lives and we are now the largest independent provider of services for people with drug, alcohol and gambling problems in East Anglia.

  • 1 in 7 adults in Norfolk are estimated to binge drink
  • There are an estimated 90,000 hazardous drinkers in Suffolk
  • Over 8,000 people in Norfolk are problem drug users
  • Over 3,700 children in Norfolk have parents with a drug problem
  • 5,000 people in Norfolk, and 4,000 in Suffolk, are problem gamblers.

Behind the statistics, there are real people and real stories. But what the figures show is that the usual perception of dependency is actually just the tip of the iceberg. In varying degrees, there are many more people who are dependent on alcohol, drugs or gambling than we generally recognise.
