NORCAS sees a Rise in Demand for its Awareness Training Courses.

Training Administrator for NORCAS, Donna Hunt, recently completed her Professional Training Certificate and has been working closely with local agencies, such as Norfolk Police and the British Red Cross, providing short alcohol awareness training courses.

In the previous newsletter it was reported that NORCAS was awarded the Safer Injecting Course for Norfolk DAAT. The two day course is now underway and the feedback has been extremely positive.

We have also recently held the first of our new internal induction courses, which was incredibly well received. NORCAS workers, with different levels of experience and from a variety of fields, get together to share their skills and knowledge in order to help with each other’s personal development.

In December NORCAS started work with Norwich City College on a large project to train all their staff on drugs issues related to Dual Diagnosis. Recent work in youth environments includes St. Felix School and Norwich School.

Looking forward into 2011, several of our long term clients have recently asked for us to increase the number of courses we provide for them this year, including; Norfolk DAAT, Hollesley Bay Prison and NWMPT. We have also taken on a number of new clients including; Move on East, RAPt at HMP Norwich and the Priory Centre, Great Yarmouth.
