Foxy Lady, a Parson Russell Terrier from the Great Yarmouth branch of NORCAS, recently gave birth to two baby boys.

Congratulations are in order at the Great Yarmouth office, as NORCAS celebrates the arrival of its first PAT dog puppies!

Foxy Lady, a registered Pets As Therapy dog who works for NORCAS, gave birth on Wednesday 10th November to two healthy babies named Bertie and Harry. The Parson Russell Terrier, who delivered the pups by Caesarean, has taken well to her new life as a working mum attending appointments with her owner one day a week.

Counsellor for NORCAS in Great Yarmouth, Sonya Farrell said: “Foxy is adjusting very well to her role as a mother and we are very pleased to announce that Harry will be following in his mother’s footsteps and becoming a registered PAT dog himself!”

Research shows that the companionship and therapeutic benefit of an animal companion can have positive effects on more vulnerable people, such as those who have problems with addictive behaviours. Foxy Lady will continue to make regular visits to NORCAS in Great Yarmouth as one of the 4,500 P.A.T dogs and 108 P.A.T. cats registered with the charity Pets As Therapy.

Over 130,000 people benefit every week from the services provided by Pets As Therapy, which exist to bring comfort, companionship and therapy to people in hospitals, hospices, residential/nursing homes, day care centres, special needs schools and many other establishments throughout the UK.
