Suffolk Success

In January, NORCAS Ipswich was successful in securing a three month pilot service to offer treatment to individuals who have found that their alcohol intake has landed them in the police station custody suite.
Over a four week period the team has seen 15 clients referred to NORCAS services. A female who has spoken to NORCAS for the first time via this scheme, is now engaging in our core service programme and is looking into going to a residential treatment centre if funding is available.
The service is provided during weekend daytimes and we hope the project further demonstrates a need for more accessible treatment and support in partnership with Criminal Justice Services.
Head of Youth, Chris Lee has been successful in securing £35,000 for a youth worker to work with affected others in the North of Suffolk. The funding was awarded via Early Interventions and Suffolk DAAT Y.P Services.
