Advice
We have up-to-date information about drugs, alcohol, local services and support groups.? We also give the facts about drinking, injecting, HIV and Aids, safer sex and much more.
Support
The service is here to help anyone experiencing problems with alcohol, drugs, tranquillisers or solvents - you don't have to be referred by doctor or social worker; just pick up the phone or call in for an appointment.
Even if you don't use drugs or alcohol but are worried or affected by someone who does - talk to us.? We are here to support you and we can put you in touch with a range of other local support groups.
Assessment
Most people will need more than one-off advice.? Therefore, to help us get a clearer picture of what is happening and how we might best help, you will be invited to attend an assessment interview.?
Key worker
If you become a regular attender of the service you will be allocated a key worker. This will be an experienced substance misuse worker who will work closely with you. Having a named person to work with saves confusion and helps develop a sense of mutual trust.

Needle Exchange Scheme
To help reduce the spread of infections such as Hepatitis, HIV etc. we offer a needle and syringe exchange scheme which is totally confidential.? All we ask is that you bring back what you use (with the exception of condoms of course). You can ask the needle exchange worker for advice on safer injecting, safer sex and many other topics.
Clinical Work
Specialist nurses offer a range of clinical services, including a range of detoxification programmes, health checks and Hepatitis B vaccinations.
Groups
We can put you in touch with a variety of support groups.? Occasionally we will run specific groups ourselves, although these will depend on demand.
