Is it harder to come off Methadone than heroin?

Physically Methadone stays in the system longer than heroin. Detoxing from heroin is believed to be easier. Physiologically the effects can be the same, but it is harder for the heroin user if they have a needle fixation.

Which is more harmful to the unborn baby, heroin or methadone?

Street heroin is more harmful due to the fact that you don't know what other substances are cut with it. The harm to mother and baby can be reduced by decreasing the methadone at the appropriate time.

What are the best ways to avoid infection while injecting?

Not to share needles.
Not to share spoons, filters and water.
Not to use the same sites too often.
Try to use new needles.
