ALCOHOL AWARENESS AND INTERVENTION

1-day course, 1 location

Alcohol causes many more health and social problems in this country than any other drug and yet we remain largely oblivious to the damage that it can cause. Suitable for anyone who would like to turn their concern into positive action this short course puts alcohol use in its true context and looks at some of the most pressing issues thrown up by it. The afternoon will focus on helping strategies and look at the services that are available to those who need assistance in controlling their drinking.

BY THE END OF THE DAY PARTICIPANTS WILL :

  • Understand the size and nature of alcohol related problems
  • Appreciate the range of risks that problem drinking poses the individual
  • Have full knowledge of the range of help available to those who suffer from alcohol related problems
  • Feel more confident in raising the issue of alcohol use with problem drinkers
